2018 Fall Book Sale:

LAST TWO DAYS …. THURS 11/16 and SAT 11/18: We still have a great selection of books and are selling for $1 (yes, ‘one dollar!!) for a paper grocery bag full of books!!!! STOCK UP NOW FOR YOUR WINTER READING!!!! (we supply the bags)

What is new in this particular sale is that it will be shorter, running only three weeks instead of four. There will be the usual categories of books plus a Christmas table, a children’s table and a specially priced table. We are also trying something new at the very end of the sale. Instead of almost a week of selling books at $1 per foot, there will be just two days at $1 per bag (grocery size paper bags will be used), Thursday, November 16 and Saturday, November 18.

Library Friends would like to thank those who donated to the sale and urge buyers not to miss this chance to purchase some really terrific books (including some huge coffee table books) at very reasonable prices – $2 for hard cover books, $1 for paperbacks and 50 cents for all children’s items except large hard cover books which are $1. Books are slightly used but in good condition. There are also CDs, DVDs and audio books. Purchasers are reminded that the HLF accepts cash and personal checks, but no credit or debit cards.

CURRENT BOOKS NEEDED BY THE LIBRARY TO REDUCE ‘HOLD TIMES': The following most popular books currently have at least 5 or more ‘holds’ on their waiting list. If you have recently purchased and read any of the following and would like to donate the book to the library, you can reduce the wait period for other readers:

Ellison);  Dangerous Minds (Janet Evonovich);  Camino Island (John Grisham);   Into The Water (Paula Hawkins);  The Identicals: a novel (Elin Hilderbrand);  Black Book (James Patterson/David Ellis);  Murder Games (James Patterson/Howard Roughan); Come Sundown (Nora Roberts);  Secrets In Summer (Nancy Thayer); Everything, Everything (Nicola Yoon)

SPRING AND FALL BOOK SALE FUNDRAISERS: Each Spring and Fall the Hendersonville Library Friends holds “Book Sales” events, selling donated books and other media. All profits from the book sales benefit the library through the Library Friends. One recent purchase/donation to the library was a new kiosk for the Teen Room. Funds are used in many way to fund many library activities including those listed below. Thanks again to all for your support!!! Donations may be made at the library front desk any time throughout the year. Your donations are tax deductable and greatly appreciated.
