Greetings and happy New Year to all.  The library friends’ board will meet on January 11th to begin planning for 2019. We welcome all who would like to attend. We will be setting the dates for our spring book sale.  We had a very successful fall book sale, netting close to $4,000. We purchased handsome new book bags, which we sold at the book sale and will continue to sell throughout the year.  I hope you will buy one. We approved the 2019 budget at the November board meeting that included $6075 to the library. This includes $2500 for the summer reading program, as well as programming expenses of $2250 for teen and adult programs, $925 for the movie license and $400 for holiday decorations. That will fund all the programs for the upcoming year.

As always, we welcome your presence and suggestions. Thank you for being a friend of the library.

2019 DUES: Unless you joined at the recent book sale, your dues are now due. It’s only $5, although you are welcome to include more. Admittedly you don’t get a lot for your money but your money and support help HLF a LOT. We do try to alert our members to any unanticipated library closings or changes in hours. You also get a heads up on what is happening with our two annual book sales and we include a reading suggestion or two in each newsletter.  Please send your check to Hendersonville Library Friends PO Box 906, Hendersonville TN 37077-0906
